Is your loved one affected by an eating disorder?
Do you feel overwhelmed, sad, and/or angry about how the
eating disorder is affecting you and your family?
Do you wonder how you can best support your loved one through recovery?
If you answered “yes” to these questions, then the Family Support & Education Group is for you! This group is designed to: (1) provide a safe and nurturing environment for parents and loved ones to explore their own feelings related to supporting someone through recovery; (2) educate participants about the biological, emotional, and social complexities of these illnesses; and (3) foster meaningful and supportive relationships with other people who understand this process. Throughout the sessions, participants will learn about the latest research on eating disorders, as well as how to create an environment that is conducive to their loved one’s recovery process.
This group is open to any adult who is supporting someone with an eating disorder, including parents, spouses, grandparents, siblings, adult children, and friends. Regular attendance is encouraged so that members are able to develop meaningful relationships with each other.
